The City of Mayfield Heights is significantly short on park space considering the size of our community. The use of existing space must be maximized. Those existing areas are in need of upgraded amenities.
Results of our parks, pool and recreation research project indicate the community's desire for playground upgrades. Amenities such as ADA accessibility, shaded areas, and rubberized surfacing are also desired. A synthetic turf, multi-purpose field is being considered. This type of field can be used for a variety of sports and activities. It also would extend the playing season of these sports.
In process . . . The City Engineer will conduct feasibility studies on the park site. Once complete, the next step is to hire an architect to design a potential layout for the pool and park amenities.
