Recreation Facility Update
The exciting process of upgrading our recreation facilities upon the passage of Issue 9 has begun! This summer, the city engaged the community in a pool, parks and recreation research project to solicit feedback on their vision for new and improved recreational facilities. Questions focused on pool amenities, playgrounds, multipurpose fields, trails, and other recreational facilities. Over 850 responses were received. The results of the survey are available here.
Dragga Pool, which is entering its 63rd season in 2021, is one of our first priorities. The preliminary, conceptual site plan phase for the pool and community center is underway. Anticipated completion of this phase is a few months. Once complete, the next step will be selection of an architect / design firm to develop the design phase of the project which we anticipate in the early part of 2021. Stay tuned for future updates!
In 2017, the City of Mayfield Heights applied for and was award a TLCI grant from the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA). The grant made possible a comprehensive, city-wide study to identify long-term objectives for community connectivity. Access the Trails page here.
