Can the city stop the cable company from raising fees?
The city has no authority in our cable provider's calculation of rates and/or packaging of their product. The FCC provides a formula by which the cable provider calculates their rates. The city has authority only to verify that those calculations are correct. Cable television is considered a "luxury" item and not necessary for life so there are few restrictions.
